BTQueue 0.1.3 489

It was about a month since BTQueue 0.1.2 released last month. I would like to introduce BTQueue 0.1.3 which is actually a minor bug fixes version with several features added. In this version "peer" command is back again. You can query the latest peer list replied by the tracker anytime you like. In addition, I added "eval" command that allows you to view or modify data in memory on the fly. This function will be very useful if you are Python programmers. Since I have just gotten a chance to use DHT, it is possible to force DHT by setting local policy; otherwise, DHT will be forced if the announce URL starts with udp://. The option --saveas has been fixed to work as except. One more thing, IP to Country database has been updated to include up-to-date mapping.

BTQueue wins 2006 Community Choice Awards in Clustering category

I would like to thank everyone voted BTQueue in 2006 Community Choice Awards at SourceForge.net. Eventually, it is now the winner of Clustering category. Well, I don’t think BTQueue is the best project in this category but I’m sure it works well on any clusters with python.

How to mostly prevent Firefox crashing by Flash

If your OS is Linux, especially Ubuntu, and your favorite browser is Firefox, you might notice some annoying bug that Firefox often crashes when opening pages with some kind of Flash. In case you have never seen this situation, you may try to open any Hi5 profile pages. I have just found a trick that helps me stay away from that problem. Not so sure but it seems to work better than before.

The source of this trick is for Edgy but it works great in Hardy!

How to setup custom domain of Tumblr in DTC

is such a good service for personal microblog. The best of its feature is to let us use custom domain. For example, by default my Tumblr url is which is good enough. But now, I changed my url to better custom domain http://sugree.in.th/. And it looks mine! Anyway, it is not so easy to setup on DTC. If you are providing hosting services using DTC, you might need to follow my workaround to let your customers set custom domain successfully.

Building OpenOffice.org for Ubuntu Gutsy again

Last time, I built .deb packages of OpenOffice.org for Ubuntu Gutsy with backport patch, i18n38, that fixes critical bug regarding ICU. Now it's time to redo it again to the latest source.

New place for my personal opinions

After running this site long enough, I has found that the theme of this site is to share my short howto. Something that are repeatable. As a result, makes me recover what I really want and I don't have at howforge.com. I would like to blog and the blog may not be any kind of howto. Twitter serves me well but I would like to write longer than 140 characters. So, my personal site is at http://sugree.com/.

Anyway, this site will still be available and updated regularly when I do something new.
