Choosing an OpenID Server
I have found a digg entry about OpenID. This is not my first time for OpenID but according to my current work, it sounds very interesting technology. So I would like to try it out by myself in action. This post is to describe my thought of choosing the right OpenID Server for me.
Note that I got only a sponsored link in Google when searching for "". The only one sponsor link pointed me to MyOpenID. Anyway, I would like to see more alternatives so I first went to read about OpenID at Wikipedia. There were so many free OpenID server. I got the top 3 interesting services; MyOpenID, GetOpenID and Verisign PIP. PIP is the last one joined in this useful service, anyway, Verisign is a big name behide its name. I have to choose one for sure.
First of all, I tried with no luck. The query I used is . It seems noone is interesting to search for these keywords.
Then I tried . The result is as follows. PIP is the most popular one but I'm not sure that it is because of itself or its big name.

- 549
- 123,000
Lastly, I tried to measure the popularity of each services regarding back links to the main page of each ones using operator link:
.
- 193
- 17
- 70
Eventually, I chose MyOpenID because it seems more people used it.
