I have just read an article. It is very interesting. What is the fundamental of computer that students should qualify before going to university? Ten years ago, my friends studied in Civil and Chem Engineering was able to play games on PC. Is that enough? In other point of view, my friends studied in Computer Engineering was able to develop program in C. Is that enough? As far as I know, most universities in Thailand will force all students to take a course regarding introduction to computer on the first year. In this course, the students will study how to program in Pascal based on Turbo Pascal. If I'm not wrong, Pascal has been changed to C# since last few years. So what one should know before going to university?

IMHO, a computer, right now, is just nothing without network. My point is that a computer is useless as long as it is not connectible to others. In fact, a computer connecting to others forming a larger network may bring students to another world where knowledge are available all day all night. In short, any computer is a gateway to knowledge. The only one thing everyone, not only student, should know is how to find what they want from the computer.

Right now, the only way to find out something via computer is a kind of search engine. In a computer, we have desktop searches. In the internet, we also have many search engines. So the knowhow of using computer is to find the right keyword for the required content. Information in this decade are impossible to browse or to classify into category views or any hierarchical structures. We need search engines.

In summary, all learners must know how to find the right keyword from given topic.
