How to download archives of TV program from MCOT into your computer (Linux version)

Introduction MCOT has a site, http://hiptv.mcot.net , used to distribute Thai TV programs that already were broadcasted on public television at channel 9. It is more convenient, if we can download our interesting programs into our computer and see them later anytime as we want. Requirements mmsrip: use for ripping the stream into our computer (http://nbenoit.tuxfamily.org/projects.php?rq=mmsrip) firefox + Web Developer addon: use for finding the address of the stream on web page (https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=60) Steps 1.Find URL of wanted program (I think it is not too difficult.) The URL may be something like http://hiptv.mcot.net/hipPlay.php?id=5281 2.Paste it in firefox (please make sure you already have installed the Web Developer addon), and then click “Display Object Information” in “Information” toolbar. I hop you will see the URL of mms stream. 3.Now, let's see the URL of mms stream that we got. It will look like this: mms://mediai.mcot.net/worldview/56k/worldviewD2006-03-27ID-5211.wmv. we just need the part of URL that after the host address. For the example, it is worldview/56k/worldviewD2006-03-27ID-5211.wmv. and then combine it with with “mms://202.142.200.130/Modernine/”. So, the working URL will be mms://202.142.200.130/Modernine/worldview/56k/worldviewD2006-03-27ID-5211.wmv. 4.Finally, put the URL into mmsrip program. That's it. Note The downloaded file is coded into WMV9, I use mplayer + all codecs package (both can be downloaded at http://www.mplayerhq.hu) for viewing the video .
