This is my goal for today. I have to setup a Bandwidth Meter service. It has many names, e.g., Speed Test, Bandwidth Test, and etc. Only one criteria is that I don't want to pay any cents so it must be free of charge and it should be open source.

I found BandwidthMeter project and it is good enough. In summary, it is completely written in PHP and the latest version is 0.72 released since February 23, 2003. Anyway, it rocks! Only a few modification to customize look-and-feel. At least, a major site in Thailand, adslthailand.com used it to serve most ADSL subscribers for several years.
