(Gtalk += Gmail + Search) == MSN - Video - Send File
Can you imagine the combination of search engine and webmail? Yes, you can because you see . This is the new era of computing. There is no more manual classification. In fact, you don’t need to classify things in hierarchy structure like we did for the last decade in directory or folder structure anymore. This seems to be the most innovative technology that everyone uses and don’t notice any changes. For example, I don’t care what my files will be saved right now as long as I can search it through .
Today is a remarkable day of . In contrast, there are 2 noticeable changes. This is another innovative but also predictable to happen someday. Today is the day.
- Gmail is now a new XMPP client dedicated to . You can read Gmail and chat with friends at the same screen no matter where you are. This feature has already implemented in MSN and many other IM to allow people chatting around without firewall restriction. Anyway, it is a good start for Google Talk.
- You can . What? Is it simple like this? Yes, it is. The point is where the storage is. Well, your chat history will be stored in Gmail. So you might know advantages of this simple feature. This means to turn all chat history into a kind of e-mail and they are all searchable through Gmail’s search button.
Every IMs are able to save chat history and display them for the next chat. However, none of them let us search through the history in just one step ahead. Usually, I search everything through Desktop Search so they are automatically indexed by addons plugin. No Google Talk plugin for Google Desktop. This is the answer why no Google Talk plugin for Google Desktop. You don’t need it. Everything suppose to work seemlessly.
Unfortunately, as like I said before, chat may good but I would like to instantly send files to my friend. I know Gmail can do it but I want to do it exactly, instantly, and directly to my friend. I hope to see file sending action in Google Talk very soon so I can convince friends to use Google Talk instead of MSN easier.
