Kid's Programming Language
I have seen a news at NewsForge about Kid’s Programming Language aka KPL. At the first glance, it is very promising since my son may learn how to program so easy. So I looked into the snapshot. Cool! KPL could create interactive games and most of them are arcade. They are beautiful games. KPL comes with its own smart IDE looked very similar to Visual Studio.
For the language itself, KPL is very similar to Visual Basic except only some keywords. I don’t know much about VB. Fortunately, KPL’s IDE offers conversion capability to C# and VB.NET. By the way, I do love Python and always think that Python is the most straightforward language.
The same article also pointed me to The LiveWires Python Course. It is pretty simple worksheets and packages to train ones who have never programmed to program in Python. LiveWires have 5 worksheets; Introduction, Turning the Tables, Pretty Pictures, High Low game, and Robots game. Luckily, LiveWires also have GUI using Pygame.
I would like to try both.
