News? Article? Forum? Blog? What are the difference characteristics of them in Web 2.0 era? This question suddenly appeared in my mind for so long. I think I have a good answer now. At present, Web 2.0 usually means to feedback from visitor. There are various feedback, e.g., visitors may publish their own contents or comment existing contents. News, Article, Forum and Blog have this feature built-in. Anyway, the difference is ownership and rules just like below quote from The Cell.

News, Article and Forum have their own rules. Most rules depend on a set of moderators aka administrators. If your topics, articles or comments are removed or locked, it is all because you are living in the world ruled by others. In case of you still want to publish your thoughts, you should have your own blog. Your blog is your world and your rules. Blog is the most effective approach to share your thoughts. I don't think building another forums or communities on your own is a good solution. Instead, forums and communities should be as less as possible to increase their size. These forums and communities are the starting point for new visitors to the group. At these sites, they will find contents posted by members and also the link to their blogs. If you like their articles, just subscribe their blogs.
