Installation of SAP NetWeaver 2004s Java and ABAP Trial Version

I'm going to try the latest trial version of SAP NetWeaver 2004s Java and ABAP on a virtual machine based on VMware Server. First of all, I have to download all packages from SDN.

If you planned to install these products on separate host, the installation order is not important. If you have only one machine to try, it is recommended to install ABAP edition prior to the Java edition (read more).

One more thing, the Java edition does not support JDK 1.5.0 so you have to install JDK 1.4.2 instead.

Install SAP NetWeaver 04s Full ABAP Trial Version

Installing ABAP Trial Version is quite easy. I just answered 2 questions.

  1. Install location: E:\SAP
  2. Master password: ********

It took about 2 hours to finish the installation (8.6 GB). Then I started to install Java edition.

Install SAP NetWeaver 04s SP9 Java Trial Version

  1. JDK location: C:\j2sdk1.4.2_13
  2. JCE location: E:\jce_policy-1.4.2.zip
  3. Instace ID: J2E
  4. Install location: E:
  5. Master password: ********
  6. User domain: Local installation
  7. Administrator password: ********
  8. Service user password: ********
  9. Database ID: J2E
  10. Host: xxxx
  11. MaxDB installation drives: E:
  12. Database administrator password: ********
  13. Database manager operator password: ********
  14. Java database schema password: ********
  15. Secure store settings: ********
  16. Database statistics: Create statistics after the import ends
  17. SCS instance number: 01
  18. SDM password: ********

Consequences

It turned out that these trial products must not be installed on the same machine in any orders. I tried both and got unexpected error during installation.

  1. ABAP -> Java - It went very close to success but eventually, Java version didn't detect the existing ABAP instance correctly.

  2. Java -> ABAP - There is no option to choose instance number in ABAP version. Furthermore, the install wizard in ABAP didn't even try to add new database but remove all existing database and install new ones.

Finally, I managed to have Java version in virtual machine with 384 MB main memory. It took about 3 hours to successfully start Java engine. Anyway, it is possible to freeze the machine so I don't have to shutdown and start it again.

help installing trial abap netweaver

Hi I bought the book Abap Objects, it comes with the sofware, I follow the instructions and I installed everything in the cd, but I can not get to my developers AS ABAP, when I hit the log on screen I get an error, the opens with SAP EASY ACCESS and starts the lessons but I can not get to that screen, I do not see how, can you help? WSAECONNNREFUSE: connection refuse

connection refused

It seems you have not started the services yet. Try to start them via management console on your desktop.

unable to get netweaver 2004 AS ABAP popup

Since it is the first time installing this sofware, do I have to create a new lisence?

sure

Yes, you have to obtain a free 3-month license and install it as usual.

netweaver sap logon not working for first time

thanks Sugree So that is probably why when I try to log on I get and error right? thanks for all you help, then I will try that rgards I have 22 years on mainframe but I am new with this and I need to get my skills up to date. raraya

The first step is to obtain

The first step is to obtain the Hardware Key. Log into the system with SAP* user and click on Administer SAP Licenses or use the transaction code SLICENSE. The picture below shows where to find the Active Hardware Key. How can I get a new lisence If I can not even logon, in essence i do not get a log on screen, I get an error, I went in through the console and started the services but when i log on I get WSAECONNREFUSE: Connection Refused. I do not know what to do next Partner 'RAISA_COMPUTER:sapdp00' not reached Time Monday, bla, bla, bla Componet NI(NETWORK INTERFACE) release 710 Version 39 Module NIXXI.CPP Method NIPCONNECT2 Return Code -10 Error Num 10061 Errior Text WSAECONNREFFUSE: Connection Refused counter 1 this occurs when i hit the LOGON BOTTON

connection refused again

Probably you are confusing the system landscape. Are you sure that the server is RAISA_COMPUTER? Otherwise, it might not be running at system number 00. Just try to change the system number.

DVD for SAP NetWeaver 2004s ABAP Trial Version is useless

I bought the ABAP Objects ABAP Programming in SAP NetWeaver and I, like a very many people have trouble installing the trial version as evidenced by looking at the SDN site. I have over 10 years ABAP experience in SAP and I have installed many previous SAP trial CDs. This version just does not install on my machine. IMO do not waste your efforts downloading huge files from SAP, which is their solution to the erroneous trial version shipped w/the book. It is junk, too unless you are lucky enough to have a machine that is set up like whatever geniuses made this non-working trial version. Too many stars have to be aligned right for the trial version to work. You can follow all their suggestions, but as I said above IMO you will just waste your time. Caveat emptor.

SAP NetWeaver 2004 - Java Trial Version: How to login???

Hi guy, I am also pretty new to the SAP stuff, although I have developed in ABAP for some while. My problem is the following: I have downloaded "SAP NetWeaver 2004 - Java Trial Version" from SDN and I also could install it without any problems... Now I would like to create login to the system somehow, but I donot know how??? I have already installed the SAP GUI but I do not know what to do next. How can I login and call for example the transaction SE80 or what ever? How can I call the DeveloperStudio etc. to develop my applications??? Thanks, ParsMan

problem in login after installation

I have done step by step as directed in DVD but at end while logging after installing GUI it should say that there are 3 users, but it is showing nothing,,After installing database manager and SQL Studio also the problem is same....... error it is goving is DBIF_RSQL_INVALID_REQUEST kindly help

As I read your installation

As I read your installation steps as you applied to install SAP Netweaver 2004s. On my host machine I have installed ABAP version its successfully working. Now, I created Virtual machine through VMware Workstation 6 to install JAVA version. My main concern is that how we can integrate both to each other. ABAP is on host machine with localhost. How ABAP will communicate with JAVA or vise versa. How can we use database to store the information. I need to use Portal for Report analysis in BEx Web application designer. Would you please specify the steps in detail. thanks Obaid
