Upgrading Ubuntu Feisty Fawn to Gutsy Gibbon

Yesterday, I upgraded my laptop which formerly was Ubuntu Feisty Fawn to Gutsy Gibbon Alpha release. Yes, it is still an alpha release and actually I just upgraded to the most up-to-date version. In other words, I didn't upgrading through CD image, instead, I downloaded all fresh packages from public archive site.

I just fired a few commands.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
gksudo "update-manager -d"

And then wait a few hours to download and another hour to install and update existing configurations.

cannot initiate dbus msg

Hi, your instructions are all over the net, but they don't work on my system for some reason. Here is the msg I get: warning: could not initiate dbus current dist not found in meta-release file Any ideas on what to look for to get the upgrade going? At the moment I feel like I'm the only one in the world of Ubuntu Linux going through this. Thanks.

Gutsy

Same here. Any ideas anyone?

Same here: gksudo "update-manager -c -d" warning: could not initiate dbus current dist not found in meta-release file d0c@d0c:~$

insert gutsy cd

Umm. You may need to download gutsy cd and insert it to the tray. It will ask you to confirm upgrade. After that gksudo "update-manager -d" should work as expect.
