After blogging for 4 months, I have finally got my first earning from  program. It is not as much as my income but it is enough to run this site for 2 years.

Some might say that many successors had been blogging as their main job. They usually get earning from Google AdSense and other affiliate programs. I don’t want to blog as my main job. I love my job. I love programming. Actually, I must say that I only blogged about my day-to-day experiences. If I don’t have my job, I may not have anything to blog. As you might see slogan of this site, "Share Know-How". I just want to share my experience and also my open-source works. In other words, Google AdSense indirectly sponsors me to contribute open-source programs.

As you might notice, howforge.com has just been upgraded to Drupal 4.7.0. This is a big move because I had no time to upgrade since Drupal 4.7.0 beta 6. Anyway, I did it so smooth like before. In addition, I also reorganized all third-party modules to store in specific sites only. Since my development machine is running inside VMware player, I modified a few configurations to make it compatible with this hosting machine.

I love Firefox. By the way, almost websites in Thailand are authored to best fit in Internet Explorer. The most common problem is Thai word wrap. Firefox expects to insert newline for each whitespace. As a result, Firefox usually renders incorrect layout for those web pages. Unfortunately, I found critical problem for this issue today. You can try it easily. Just go to http://www.settrade.com/. And then try to login using any user and password. Firefox will stop process in a blank page. In fact, it is not really blank one. There is a form tag and a script tag which simply submits that form. That’s all. There is no html tag and body tag. What does it mean? Firefox is too strict in rendering non-wellform HTML.

Blognone Tech Day #1 was held at Kasetsart University today. As you could see in the program schedule, each speaker had about 24 minutes excluding questions and answers. This schedule is so tight, says 11 topics in 270 minutes. Anyway, the first 2 speakers took about 2 hours. I was one of them. Sorry. 20 minutes are too short for my topic Python on Zope. Some audiences may expect to see on-line demonstration. I have no idea how to do that on Zope. Zope is not designed to develop add-on product as quick as Ruby on Rails can do on the first topic.

Drupal 4.7.0 RC3 is here. The final release would be released within this month or early next month. Get it to try and find bugs as many as possible. Drupal is the most active community project. There are lots of contributors around the world. Everyone are all volunteers.
